Romantic - Country Styled Shoot

During one of my recent visits to visit my parents in Pennsylvania I arranged a styled shoot made of 100% hand-made materials. Originally, I had planned to photograph a styled shoot at this beautiful abandoned home in Elizabethtown - but, on the day of the shoot, things were really rainy, really foggy, and super muddy. Not the best conditions for hiking around an abandoned house in the middle of no where and setting up pretty props. What I also hadn't anticipated was the fact that the abandoned house I was hoping to you had been demolished! I had seen the house, standing in it's glory, overlooking a giant cornfield just weeks before. I must have missed my opportunity to set up a shoot there because it was now nothing but a pile of rubble. It just wasn't my day for planning a photo shoot. Then I thought, "Whatever, I'm going to make this shoot work. I didn't make all of this beautiful stuff for nothing, Marcy made me these fun flower arrangements, and I'm too excited to wait any longer to see this shoot come to live." So, check out the results below...

Chaz helped me set everything up in my parent's backyard right before dusk. It was a rush against the setting sun (which was kind of nonexistent because it was so hazy and foggy that day). I sewed the fun teal, peach, and red floral curtains and hand-stitched delicate lace along the edges. The 'chandeliers' hanging from the trees were made using grapevine wreathes and fabric and ribbon scraps. I sewed up some fabric napkins that matched the curtains. My awesome friend, Marcy, made the amazing floral centerpiece! She also gave me a few bunches of babies breath that I attached to the curtain tiebacks. If you're looking for a florist in Central PA, check out Fosters Flowers in York; she does fantastic work!

So, things turned out pretty cute, don't you think? Just wait to see the next styled shoot I have up my sleeve - hopefully everything goes just as planned!
