Longwood Gardens

Earlier this month, I visited Longwood Gardens to take a class, a tour, and explore. Just after the huge ice storm that hit Central PA & surrounding areas, Longwood was still covered in a thick layer of ice and snow. The outdoor gardens were closed due to downed tree branches and slick conditions, but the conservatory was open and so refreshing. In contrast to the arctic-like conditions outside, the warm and balmy conservatory was more than refreshing. I toured the production greenhouses and saw the mass quantities of spring flowers blooming; daffodils, tulips, orchids, etc. I love learning about the history of this place. So many incredible stories in this institution that originated with Native Americans and Quakers. I took my time exploring the facilities and read every brochure, identification sign, and plant marker I could find. The Orchid display was the main attraction, but I found myself loving the tropical rain forest room and the dry, desert succulent room the most. I snapped lots of photos and put a few together to share with you... little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens little miss lovely - longwood gardens What's you favorite part of Longwood? I'm planning another trip around a few floral arranging classes this spring. Can't wait to see how the greenery and blossoms change over the next few months. Enjoy! - Ami
