little miss lovely // daisy bouquet // wedding flowers // merry sherwood plantation // berlin md Red, white & blue nautical-themed wedding at one of the most gorgeous properties on the Eastern Shore... sign me up! Natalie called me just 2 months before her wedding in a panic about her wedding flowers and I'm so happy that she did! 2 months out from her wedding date, the couples previous florist told them she would no longer be able to do their wedding flowers. In a moment of wedding stress, I talked to Natalie on the phone for about an hour that day and - boom - her wedding dilemma was solved and I knew that her flowers were going to be awesomely perfect for her and James' big day. little miss lovely // nautical red white blue wedding // berlin md // wedding florist // daisy bouquet The bride had asked for simplicity; a mixture of white daisies with yellow centered tied with non-shiny ribbon and zero greens. I threw lots of other possible options at her and she stuck to her guns. Simplistic daisies. I ended up using a mixture of chamomile flowers, casino aster, wild fever few, and white pom daisies for her bridal flowers. I loved the notion of wrapping her bouquets with nautical white cotton rope and tying them with "love knots". It was perfect. The bride's bouquet had a layer of red grosgrain ribbon underneath, gold-headed pins, and I added a gold anchor charm - just to spiff it up a bit. As a little side note -- Chamomile is known for its healing properties. Fever Few is known for its medicinal properties, as well as its citrus fragrance. I'm surprised that we don't see daisies, chamomile & fever few in wedding bouquets more often since it has such pleasant meanings. little miss lovely // nautical red white blue wedding // berlin md // wedding florist // merry sherwood plantation // berlin, md little miss lovely // nautical red white blue wedding // berlin md // wedding florist // daisy bouquet little miss lovely // nautical red white blue wedding // berlin md // wedding florist // daisy bouquet The groom wore a tiny cluster of chamomile flowers that were tied with white rope and thin red grosgrain ribbon to match his bride. little miss lovely // nautical red white blue wedding // berlin md // wedding florist // daisy boutonniere Natalie & James' bridal flowers were surprisingly some of the most difficult arrangements I have ever made! I'm a lover of all things full, fancy and diverse. Doing bouquets of just one type of flower was very difficult for me. I swear that I held these little bunches of wildflowers in my hands about a million times and looked at them from 100 angles to make sure they were 'finished' before delivering them! I think the lesson of 'less is more' definitely applied to these bridal flowers and was, for sure, a good thing for this florist to experiment with. The bridesmaids carried bunches of fever few mixed with chamomile wrapped in white roping. little miss lovely // nautical red white blue wedding // berlin md // wedding florist // daisy chamomile bouquet little miss lovely // nautical red white blue wedding // berlin md // wedding florist // daisy chamomile bouquet The groomsmen's bouts matched the bridesmaid bouquets... little miss lovely // nautical red white blue wedding // berlin md // wedding florist // daisy chamomile boutonnieres The father's bouts matched, as well... little miss lovely // nautical red white blue wedding // berlin md // wedding florist // daisy chamomile boutonnieres The mothers and grandmothers carried tiny little posies of a few larger daisy stems tied together with twine and white roping... little miss lovely // nautical red white blue wedding // berlin md // wedding florist // daisy chamomile posey The wedding took place at the Merry Sherwood Plantation in Berlin, MD. I have been in love with this plantation home and the surrounding gardens since I first stepped foot inside when I was 18 years old. I had seen it decked out in holiday Christmas garb that year and returned every Christmas season to check out the home until the property closed its doors to the public and became a family home once again a few years ago. Let me tell you how excited I was to be back on the premisis again for a wedding... everything was gorgeous!! little miss lovely // nautical red white blue wedding // berlin md // wedding florist // merry sherwood plantation // berlin, md The reception tent was absolutely adorable. Decked out with nautical elements and personalized items. Mason jars wrapped in twine with glittery gold name tags were used as vases for the bridal party's flowers on the head table. little miss lovely // nautical red white blue wedding // berlin md // wedding florist // merry sherwood plantation // berlin, md Much thanks to the bride and groom's friends for hash-raging a few images from the wedding! I was scrolling through my newsfeed all day hoping to stumble upon photos! (Thank you to whomever posted these photos to IG!)little miss lovely // nautical red white blue wedding // instagram // merry sherwood plantation // berlin, md Thank you Natalie & James for allowing me to help with your wedding! Natalie, you looked stunning! James, you looked handsome! I hope that everything went just as perfectly as you had imagined and you are forever reminded of your wedding every time you see wild fever few and chamomile on the roadside. Xoxo - Ami
