little miss lovely // wedding florist // ocean city md // photo by gillette portrait arts Over the weekend I had the pleasure of working with a remarkable couple, Julie & Tyler. Julie and Tyler are a duo filled with creativity. Both have a love for all things artsy, musical, and romantic... for sure. The couple's wedding colors were minty green, peach, light blush pink & white. The flowers were super romantic. Each flower chosen was full, light and filled with lush petals. little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie little miss lovely // ocean city md // peach english garden rose boutonnieres little miss lovely // ocean city md // peach ivory mint wedding bouquet The couple chose to have both their wedding ceremony and reception at the Coconut Malorie Resort in Ocean City, MD. The classic hotel overlooks the bay on 59th Street. I visited the Coconut Malorie several times before Saturday to determine logistics, placement & fantasize about the flower arrangements. little miss lovely // ocean city md // peach ivory mint wedding bouquet The bride's bouquet was made with mostly white blooms; white hydrangea, roses, garden roses, baby's breath and nigella flowers. Touches of peach were placed throughout; peach roses, peach garden roses and peach astilbe. Seeded eucalyptus leaves, green euc & variegated pitt greens looked beautiful. One single lavender hydrangea was tucked into the backside of the bride's bouquet in remembrance of the bride's grandmother. When I initially spoke with Julie for her floral consultation and asked her about what flowers she would like to use in her wedding she mentioned hydrangeas and told me about her her grandmother always had the prettiest purple and blue hydrangeas growing in her garden. I asked Julie if she would like me to include a few purple hydrangeas in her flowers and she was so happy. The bride's bouquet was wrapped in satin white ribbon. A sequined chevron band sparkled at the top of the wrap. A tiny little silver arrow accent was pinned with pearls to add some spark and match the groom's bout. little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding event florist // bridal bouquet // ivory, white, peach little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding event florist // bridal bouquet // ivory, white, peach little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding event florist // bridal bouquet // ivory, white, peach with sequin accent little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding event florist // bridal bouquet // ivory, white, peach hydrangea and roses little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding event florist // bridal bouquet // ivory, white, peach hydrangea and roses The gorgeous bridesmaids carried mostly peachy pink bouquets down the aisle. Their bouquets were wrapped in salmon colored satin ribbons with the same sequin chevron wrap as the bride's. The peachy colors looked stunning against the girls' minty teal dresses. little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding event florist // bridal bouquet // peach and mint rose bouquet little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding event florist // bridal bouquet // peach and mint rose bouquets little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding event florist // bridal bouquet // peach and mint rose bouquet little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding event florist // bridal bouquet // peach and white rose hydrangea toss bouquet little miss lovely // ocean city berlin md wedding florist // boutonnieres The groom wore a peach english garden rose boutonniere. When I fastened the flowers to her collar she ran around the hotel room trying to eat the flowers. So cute. little miss lovely // wedding florist in Ocean City, MD // pet flowers for dog collar The wedding ceremony took place in the main entry / lobby of the Coconut Malorie. A double marble staircase flanks a crazy colorful (red, orange, blue & green!) mosaic tile waterfall. The staff at the Malorie turned off the water feature and I went to work. Julie had envisioned a romantic, flower-covered backdrop. I used local greens mixed with a few varieties of eucalyptus, roses, hydrangea & stock flowers to create a garden-style garland and corner spray. A bunting created with strips of peach, pink, teal, sea foam, white and ivory fabrics and ribbon hung underneath the garland and added a touch of color and shimmer. A canvas drop cloth was fastened to the mosaic feature and was lit with spotlights. Peach and white rose petals were added to the pool of water below the feature. little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie // peach and ivory flower backdrop little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie // peach and ivory flower backdrop little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie // peach and ivory flower backdrop little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie // peach and ivory flower backdrop little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie // peach and ivory flower backdrop Several large floral arrangements were placed on the marble staircase and paired perfectly with the floral backdrop. little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie // peach and ivory flower arrangements little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie // peach and ivory urn flower arrangements little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie // peach and ivory urn flower arrangements Seeing Julie's face as she saw the ceremony backdrop completely setup was amazing! I was soaked up to my knees from climbing in and out of the water fountain when she walked in in her absolutely stunning wedding gown. She looked so stinkin' drop-dead gorgeous! Loved her reaction to this special backdrop. little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie // julie stilts tyler rolig little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie // julie stilts tyler rolig little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie // julie stilts tyler rolig Tyler is into geography. He's working on finishing up a degree in geography and confessed his love for maps and globes while hanging out with Chaz and I a few days before his wedding... I knew I had to add a globe somewhere in their reception for him. I collect old globes and adorned one with flowers and a little 'graffiti' and placed the focal point on the entry table. One of Julie's bridesmaids, Alana, created a super sweet scrapbook filled with photos that was placed in front of the globe and served as a guest book for guests to sign. little miss lovely // ocean city maryland wedding florist // coconut malorie // geography globe with flowers little miss lovely // ocean city maryland wedding florist // coconut malorie // geography globe with flowers little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie // peach white wedding flowers little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie // peach white wedding flowers little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie // peach white wedding flowers Inside the ballroom, tables were decorated with white linens, lace runners, mirrors, more candles than I dared to count, and mis-matched groupings of flower arrangements. Each table center was marked with one large arrangement, a medium sized arrangement, a bud vase and a vintage bowl filled with large blooms. As an art teacher, the bride referred to the centerpieces as 'floral still lifes'. little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie reception // shabby chic centerpieces The bride and groom collected many of the vases and containers that were used for the centerpieces. Lots of mercury glass, milk glass, mint tinted and pink tinted vessels & antique glass pulled the look together. The bride placed sheer teal fabric rose petals surrounding the arrangements.little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie reception // shabby chic centerpieces little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie reception // shabby chic centerpieces little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie reception // shabby chic centerpieces little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie reception // shabby chic centerpieces little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie reception // shabby chic centerpieces little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie reception // shabby chic centerpieces little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie reception // shabby chic centerpieces little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie reception // shabby chic centerpieces little miss lovely // ocean city md wedding florist // coconut malorie reception // shabby chic centerpieces A ceramic white pitcher filled with flowers was placed with a smaller arrangement on the cake table.
