j + s wedding

When you're best friend gets married you go into 'awesome wedding work mode', bring out all of your neatest little trinkets, make her the neatest, most colorful flower arrangements, and forget to take photos because you are too busy celebrating with her, her new husband and all of your friends. That's what happened last weekend during Jen & Seth's wedding. I have been looking forward to Jen & Seth's wedding day for over a year. It was so much fun helping Jen plan her wedding, hanging out at the flower shop, and talking decorations with Ms. Anne, Jen's mother. With a theme removing around gold sequins and nautical fish -- I knew from the beginning that this wedding was going to be a blast. Jen & Seth exchanged vows on 9/12/15 less than an hour and half after a tornado touched down 20 miles south of Ocean City. Crazy, right? Only Jennifer would get married in the midst of a coastal tornado! With gusting winds, a torrential downpour and 160 guests hanging out on the covered porch of the Sunset Room, the ceremony went on... and it couldn't have been more perfect. Well, minus the beautiful driftwood backdrop I had created (just 30 minutes prior to ceremony start time) blowing over by one strong wind gust... it's okay though because Chaz and I resurrected it as a photo booth during the reception. Jen's flowers were amazing. Her bridesmaids (who were dressed in beautiful gold sequined designer dresses) carried rounded bouquets of garden roses, zinnias, and pincushion flowers. Long navy and white striped ribbon hung from each bouquet and gold anchor charms added some bling to the bouquets. Jen's bouquet was larger, more whimsical and featured a large succulent up front and center. Her bouquet was tied with gold mesh ribbon and pinned with pearls. little miss lovely floral design // nautical sunset room wedding flowers ocean city md little miss lovely floral design // nautical sunset room wedding flowers ocean city md little miss lovely floral design // nautical sunset room wedding flowers ocean city md More than 100' of fresh garland was used to decorate the deck on which cocktail hour took place, hand-made chalkboard signs that directed guests to the ceremony location, the ceremony backdrop, the sweetheart table, and the Chinese lanterns hung above the dance floor. It was beautiful and work every minute of wrapping wire around greenery. little miss lovely floral design // nautical sunset room wedding flowers ocean city md The groom, fathers and the bride's brother wore boutonnieres of white rancunulus and greenery tied with nautical ribbon. little miss lovely floral design // nautical sunset room wedding flowers ocean city md little miss lovely floral design // nautical sunset room wedding flowers ocean city md little miss lovely floral design // nautical sunset room wedding flowers ocean city md The centerpieces were so neat! The bride and her mother sourced these lanterns from India and the groom and one of his friends created wooden stands to elevate the lanterns. Each lantern was placed upon tropical greenery and plumosa fern in the center of each table. Half of the centerpieces had fresh flowers cascading out of them, the other half had candles burning inside. Loose floral heads, spanish moss from North Carolina, rose petals, and succulents surrounded each lantern. little miss lovely floral design // nautical sunset room wedding flowers ocean city md The cake table, bars and gift table were all decorated with sequin table cloths and coordinating flower arrangements. It all looked so great together! little miss lovely floral design // nautical sunset room wedding flowers ocean city md Jennifer, I hope that everything was more than you had imagined it would have been! I can't believe that you are married and that we are both wifes... crazy! Seth, your bride is perfection and I am so thankful that she has a great man by her side. I can't wait to see all that you accomplish together and am looking forward to creating so many new memories with you two. Love you so much!! xoxo- Ami
