Last Saturday afternoon, two of the most beautiful souls were united in marriage. Stephanie and Patty are an inspiration. I'm still smiling while thinking about your vows to one another. You two were surrounded by so much love and excitement. Thank you for including both Chaz and I in a lovely, heartfelt ceremony and extremely fun reception. I could not be happier for the two of you.
When it came to flowers, these girls knew exactly what they wanted — bright, happy flowers mixed with succulents. Stephanie loves gerber daisies. Patty loves sunflowers. When it came to their bridal bouquets, I used a color scheme of coral, deep purple, yellow and white to unite the floral pieces. Stephanie’s bouquet featured a blend of colorful gerbers while Patty’s bouquet was created using mini sunflowers. Each bouquet was centered around a few live succulents.
The succulents were carried over into the arbor arrangements. A mixture of succulents, hydrangea, sunflowers, roses, and gerber daisies were secured to their simple beach archway and greenery climbed upward from each floral spray.
The boutonnieres were one of my favorite parts of this wedding! I was so excited when these brides gave me free rein to design something unique for their boutonnieres. The bouts were created inside of real crab claws! I’m already predicting that these boutonnieres are going to be all the rage this wedding season! Love when couples let me get creative with their wedding florals.
The wedding reception too place inside The Gateway Grand’s lounge just off of the beachfront terrace where the ceremony took place. The space was dressed up in white linens with navy blue accents. A tall floral arrangement filled with succulents hovered over a display of sand dollars used as place cards arranged nicely on pieces of found drift wood.
The centerpieces were memorable and a hit with all of the wedding guests. The couple wanted to use dish gardens as their centerpieces; something less fussy than traditional flowers and also something that they could nurture and enjoy for months following their wedding. Along with their family, the girls collected mismatched crystal bowls from various thrift stores and antique stores. I filled them with pebbles, soil, sand, and a variety of hardy indoor plants and gorgeous succulents. Tiny seashells, pebbles, moss, dirt wood, and sea glass were tucked inside each centerpiece. I loved that each and every centerpiece was different, but they all tied in together.
Baked Dessert Cafe set up a spectacular dessert table that included a small cake and a plethora of cupcakes and cake bombs.
