Whitehaven Ferry Road

I know nothing about this place... except that it's stunning. The beautiful colors of this building caught my eye while rushing to catch the last ferry across the Wicomico River and into Whitehaven for the day. I knew that I only had 20 minutes to catch the ferry (a 45 minute drive via ferry or else I was stuck driving an hour and half around the peninsula) but stopped to take a few pictures of this place. This building, I'm guessing it may have been a general store or shop of some sort at sometime, sits to the side of a 3-way...

Why Blog?

Why do people blog? Why do I blog? It seems like I’ve been getting this question quite frequently lately. Someone who doesn’t blog may insist that blogging is a form of collective narcissism. I hardly agree. There is much more to blogging. There is truth behind my blog… lots of it… and truth behind all of my favorite blogger’s pages, too.I started Little Miss Lovely as a way to translate my love for certain things to people with like interests. I blog because writing about something that I adore liberates me. It helps my thought processes evolve. Blogging brings like-minded...

10 Things I Love

1.) Awesome coffee tables made out of old, trimmed, doors. Complete with fancy door knob and all the details. Great restyle with lots of style. No one else will have a table like this to prop their feet on! I did something similar with 4 old wooden shutters 2 years ago... they've been transformed into a pink-washed headboard for my huge bed.2.) These pretty and simple prints by Leanne, shared on Make it Perfect. Best part is, they're free! Plenty of fun little saying to choose from. These were my favorites.3.) I love every detail in this gorgeous 'Farmer's Market'...

Fitzbound Road House

Another abandoned beauty. A stately house with a beautiful (but rotted) bay window turret. This house stands on the corner of Fitzbound Road and Mount Vernon Road in Princess Anne, MD. Still filled with furniture and accessories, this house was boarded up and neglected for quite some time. Someone's been mowing the grass, though. This place was crawling with poison ivy. If you don't see pictures of me for a while, it's beause I'm coated in poison ivy. I'm praying that I didn't catch it... my legs do feel a little itchy already.I think this fell off of the roof or...

McIntyre Road

The best way to find cool little spots to explore is to 'take the long way' anywhere. After spending the day in beautiful and historic Princess Anne, MD, I 'took the long way' home. While enjoying my drive, I spotted this pretty little home on the side of McIntyre Road in Mount Vernon, MD.This old home is abandoned with over-grown grass and poison ivy galore. The property is located along a bend in the road next to two pretty, beautifully restored homes. It makes me wonder why this house was left behind? If the neighbors saw value in restoring their old...
